Spencer Salazar is a creative technologist living in Los Angeles, California.

He is the Chief Technology Officer of Output, Inc., makers of fine music software used throughout the music production and film scoring industries.

At Output, he architected the audio intelligence engine powering Output's Co-Producer, Pack Generator, and Creatorproducts.

Spencer received a PhD in Music Technology from Stanford University CCRMA, where his doctoral thesis, "Sketching Sound", focused on physical interactivity in digital music creation.

He has a BSE in Computer Science from Princeton University, where he conducted research at the Princeton Sound Lab.

He was one of the lead developers of the ChucK programming language and is a co-author of Programming for Musicians and Digital Artists: Creating music with ChucK.

Prior to Output, he served as Special Faculty at California Institute of the Arts in the Music Technology and Digital Arts programs.

From 2014 to 2022, he served as the news editor for Computer Music Journal.
